Final Blog Post Quarter 2

This past semister I have learned a lot in physics.  Starting from the first quarter we learned about velocity and acceleration.  I think that I had the easiest time on this subject.  We also learned how gravity affected the way things fall.  We also learned the two formulas that you can use to find distance velocity or the time.  The equations were d-1/2at^2+Vot and V=Vo+at.  We also learned how to make sense of velocity time graphs and acceleration time graphs.  We then moved on to vectors and the "breku" technique.  We also leaned SOH-CAH-TOA to solve the vector problems.  Now moving to the second quarter we started with the expo pen lab.  We then learned how momentum and other forces played on objects.  After we then learned how to draw diagrams that described all of the forces that act upon an object.  The next unit we moved on to learning what Newtons were.  We also learned about Newton's laws and why how momentum is always conserved.  Close to the end of the quarter we did the egg drop.  This was a lab to see how well we understood all of the Physics that we had learned during the second quarter.  Luckly my partner and I's egg had survived.  Now we are learning about energy's which is very similar to our unit of momentum.

blogpost Quarter 2 #8

This week in physics we are learning about work and energy.  The major concept that I had to grasp was that energy is always conserved.  No matter what the case PE will always equal KE or PEs.  This has helped me with my take home quiz because you need to know this concept in order to solve the problems.  We also are learning about the springs and the spring constant.  Although since we don't live in a perfect world energy is not always conserved.  Since there is air friction an object's energy isn't always conserved.
