Blogspot 7


Now that we are learning about vectors it seems very complicated on how we can split vectors but still keep them the same.  I enjoy learning the subject in a fun manner such as the "bureku" technique, it helps me remember the material better.  Freitas makes the class very fun because of his singing and dramatic effects that he makes while singing us his song.  All of the lyrics to the song also make sense and help us learn SOH-CAH-TOA in a fun and new way.  The PA #3 was pretty easy and I was able to understand all of the concepts that we are learning at this point.

Blogpost #3 (everything moves up a number)

We were learning about Kenimatics.  We are learning all of the equations for gravity such as: d=1/2at2)+Vot, V=Vo+at, and V(2)=Vo(2)+2ad.  I don't get why the formulas work but I know how to plug in all of the different variables to find the answer to the problem.  I always wondered how people were able to find out the acceleration for earth.  For people to test that how did they factor in all of the different variables that would affect the path of an object when dropped?  To find out how scientist found the acceleration of earth would be interesting to find out.  Since this is late I hope that I will be able to fully understand the next unit and how to plug in all of the information needed in the next chapter.

Blogpost 5


This past week we learned how to make sense of a velocity, acceleration, and position graph.  Now I get why the graphs look as they do, for instance the velocity I can tell where the ball stops and suddenly falls back down.  I also learned what an acceleration vs. time graph looks like and I can tell the where the ball slows in its acceleration and then begins to accelerate back to the ground.  Right before the ball was stopped there was a big bump in the graph and that was when your hand made the ball accelerate in the opposite direction.  You can see things going up and down and you never think what, why, or how it comes back down to earth.

Blogspot #4 Kinimatics in the Realworld




With the finish of the Kinimatics it helped me understand why and how objects travel with acceleration and gravity.  Although we did not cover air resistance I was able to understand why we use all of the different formulas.  Although the final test for the unit was very hard I feel that I understood the chapter quite well.  Overall I hoped that I did get a good grade on the exam although it is highly unlikely.  For the upcoming unit I plan to study all of the equations and learn where to “plug and chug” and how to find all of the variables.

blogspot #2

This week in Physics while learning Kinematics I learned that gravity has the velocity of 9.8 meters per second squared.  All of the P.A's were real world questions that can be asked and figured out.  Although I wonder what effect wind and air resistance will have on the objects that are being thrown up.  I also though that there might be wind resistance to the object if it has a large flat surface that might act like a parachute.  For example if you drop an umbrella open it will most likely fall faster than if you dropped the same umbrella closed.
